Valedictorian
Wyatt Ellis is the valedictorian from the Class of 2019 with the highest grade-point average. He plans to attend the University of Arizona and major in physics.
Ellis is the son of Amy and Brian Ellis of Cordova. He is an Honors and AP student, scoring a 35 on the ACT. He is an AP Scholar with Distinction and will earn his Capstone Diploma this inaugural year of implementation. (St. Benedict is the only private school in Memphis and one of only eight in Tennessee offering Capstone diplomas). He is a National Merit Commended Student.
He is a member of the National Honor Society, the National Science Honor Society, the National Spanish Honor Society, the National English Honor Society, Rho Kappa History Honor Society and Mu Alpha Theta Math Honor Society. Ellis is also a member of the Key Club and the cross-country, swimming and water polo teams, earning him the school’s prestigious Iron Eagle Award for three-sport athletes. He has been a TSSAA Scholar Athlete for four years and is the SBA Senior Scholar Athlete.
He has been selected by his senior class as Most Likely to Succeed and was recently recognized by the Germantown Exchange Club as Youth of the Month for April.
Ellis has earned his Eagle Scout ranking and has more than 10 years in martial arts with Tennessee Karate Institute. He is a black belt, first degree.
Salutatorian
Quincy Card is the class salutatorian, and he has achieved the second highest cumulative GPA of his class. He plans to attend Tennessee Tech University to major in computer science.
He is the son of Jo Ann and Parker Card of Cordova. He is an active member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, often serving as master of ceremonies for masses and services. He is a graduate of St. Francis of Assisi School and is an Honors and AP student in high school.
Card scored a 32 on the ACT and is a member of the National Honor Society, the National English Honor Society, the Latin Classical League, Rho Kappa History Honor Society, the National Science Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta and the Key Club service organization.
