At the recent Board meeting, our Bartlett City Board of Education members, along with Superintendent Stephens, recognized several groups for their amazing accomplishments.
Bartlett Unified Track & Field – State Champions for the third year in a row! Our Unified Sports program brings students with and without intellectual disabilities together on the same team, promoting friendship and understanding through teamwork.

Students: Keorey Allen, Kaniya Anthony, Morgan Chalmers, Jayden Davis, Madison Evans, Elijah Langer, Alana Mickens, Cornelius Moore, Courtney Moore, Michael Otis and Andria Williams
National Champions at Nike Nationals – These talented young women became All-American and National Champions, breaking school records in both the 4 x 200 relay and the 4 x 100 relay. Congratulations to: Asia Bolden, Dior Carney, Jasmine McClelland and Peyton Miller
Coaches and Leaders: A big thank you to the coaches who dedicated themselves to these amazing students: Darrion Allen, Pamela Haley, Mirrakohl Johnson, Marvin Stewart and JaJa Nebo
Special Honors: A special shout-out to Coach JaJa Nebo for being recognized by TSSAA with the Distinguished Service Award for his outstanding contributions to student-athletes in Tennessee during the 2023-24 academic year. You inspire us all! Ms. Pamela Haley, Track & Field Booster President and student, presented Coach Nebo with the Coach of the Year Award.
Finally, Joey Mitchell, BCS Technology Director, was named the 2024 Dr. Howard Sisco CTO Award recipient. Jill Pierce, TETA Executive Director, was present to present Mr. Mitchell with his award. This prestigious award recognizes outstanding leadership and achievement in the application of technology to enrich education at the district level and its positive impact on both students and educators across Tennessee. Congratulations, Joey!
