CXS Railroad has begun maintenance work on railroad crossings through Bartlett and there will be detours set up for motorists as CSX works on various crossings.
On Wednesday, May 11, the crossing at Yale Road near Elmore Park Road was closed and traffic was being re-routed to Elmore Park.
Rick McClanahan, director of Engineering for the City of Bartlett, said the work will move northward and future railroad crossings are expected to close in the coming days at St. Elmo Road, Oak Road, Centralia Road, and Brunswick Road.
The entire project is expected to last a couple of weeks.
