Picnic & stories of yesteryear

Visitors at Holy Innocents Cemetery in Arlington found it worthwhile to bring out their umbrellas for a walking tour with live actors Saturday afternoon. At the graves of important and influential Arlington citizens, volunteers told the stories of their characters’ lives. The event was hosted by the Arlington Association for the Preservation of Tennessee Antiquities at a cemetery that dates back to 1881. Organizers were originally hoping for a sunny day that would encourage visitors to pack picnic lunches, bring lawn chairs and enjoy the historic portrayals, but a steady stream of visitors braved the drizzling rain anyway.
