MEMPHIS – Mark your calendars for the Memphis Area Master Gardeners Spring Fling Garden Show and Plant Sale! The two-day event takes place Friday and Saturday, April 4th, and 5th from 9 am to 5 pm in Memphis at the Big Red Barn at the Farmer’s Market on the grounds of the Agricenter, 7777 Walnut Grove. As always, admission and parking are FREE!

Spring Fling offers educational seminars from regional and local experts; hands-on instruction; a gardening photo exhibit; re-cycling information; a gardening book and magazine sale; and lots of fun children’s activities in our Kid’s Corner on April 5th from 9am to 2pm.
Our Master Gardener Plant Sale includes more than 2,500 houseplants, plants and bulbs in a wide range of selections just in time for the gardening season.
Have a gardening question? We have the answer! The “Ask a Master Gardener” Plant Clinic gives personalized solutions to your specific gardening problem.
In addition, numerous vendors furnish unique plants, artisanal crafts, accessories, and garden-related items in a rare “one stop shop” gardening marketplace.
Don’t miss “Garden Jumble” – a mini flea-market of gently used garden tools, implements and art.
Our noted speakers will not only educate you but will entertain you while doing so. UT Horticulture Extension Specialist Celeste Scott, will entertain you with selection, design and pro tips in the home cutting garden; UT Extension Agent-Madison County Mary Glenys Espey, Gardening to benefit local wildlife; PhD, EIT, Professor, Biosystems Engineering and Soil Science Andrea Ludwig, will share Growing Greener Communities through Tennessee Smart Yards; Greenhouse and Cutting Garden Manager at Dixon Gallery and Gardens Adam Queen, will present The science and magic of growing cut flowers; Memphis Botanic Garden Horticulture Assistant Sherri McCalla, will discuss all things Herbs; and Cooper-Young Garden Club and Experience Memphis Gardens Kim Halyak, will guide you through Transforming your Garden with Style.

Numerous demonstrations will take place both days; Leaf Casting, UT agents – Cooking Demo, creating garden art, cutting gardens, growing Fuchsia in the mid-south; and even Yoga in the Garden.
Bring the kids on Saturday, April 5th, from 9 until 2, for a fun-filled day of educational activities in our Kid’s Corner. Children will experience hands-on crafts and garden-related projects while learning about plants and gardening. There will also be a live butterfly release. The children’s activities are FREE for all ages.

Memphis Area Master Gardeners (MAMG): The Master Gardener Program is offered by the University of Tennessee Extension Service. Volunteers undergo extensive training and become certified as TN Extension Master Gardeners.
