The 2024 Municipal Schools Football Jamboree was held on the campus of Arlington HIgh School Friday night. Under the lights of the Arlington Football Stadium, the host Tigers were joined by the Bartlett Panthers, Collierville Dragons, Houston Mustangs and Millington Trojans.
Each of the varsity squads played in a 20-minute quarter, with Houston vs. Bartlett, Collierville vs. Arlington and Millington vs. Arlington. Highlights of the night started with a Chandler Day to DJ Miller touchdown pass for Houston. Collierville quarterback Cayson Stanford broke loose for a long touchdown run against the Arlington Tigers.
Finally, Millington Trojan senior athlete Cameron Puryear intercepted an Arlington pass, taking it back for a score in the final quarter.
All area teams are heading into Week One action this Friday with 7 p.m. kickoffs. The Arlington Tigers will host Overton. The Bartlett Panthers welcome the MUS Owls for an early showdown. Houston will start the 2024 season at home vs. the Briarcrest Saints. Collierville has a big test at home against Riverdale. The Millington Trojans are also starting at home with a visit from the St. Benedict Eagles.
