Emma Ames earns National Piano Award

Emma Ames, 21, daughter of Donald and Darlene Ames of Bartlett, has earned the 8-Year National Award from the National Guild of Piano Teachers.  She performed a 10-piece memorized program each year for 8 years in Germantown’s National Piano Guild Auditions, where she earned a Superior rating.  She received the Guild’s 8-year pin, a certificate, report card, a medal, and a porcelain bust of Mozart from her teacher, Benita Pepper, of Lakeland.

 Emma has studied piano with her teacher for 12 years and performed in 10 recitals. She has performed community service through her church, Advent
Presbyterian, by working in the church food drive.  

In her leisure time, Emma enjoys bowling with her team and has won several bowling awards.  She loves painting and traveling and hanging out with her friends and family.  She completed one year at Southwest TN Community College, and plans to transfer to the University of Memphis in the future.

Emma would like to someday assemble computers in a manufacturing facility.

She is currently employed at Dry Clean Super Center in Bartlett.
