A Bartlett Police officer is free from custody as of Monday night after appearing before a judge.

Brandon Kenneth

Hunter Kissinger was arrested the previous day after a tattoo artist accused the officer, when off-duty, of groping him while getting inked.

On Feb. 9, the Bartlett Police Department was informed of an incident involving the arrest of an off-duty police officer for sexual battery. The alleged actions leading to this officer’s arrest directly violate our department’s core values. As a result, the officer has been placed on administrative leave for an indefinite period pending the outcome of an Internal Investigation.

Tattoo artist Brandon Kenneth alleges he was groped by Kissinger while performing a tattoo on him. Kenneth shared the surveillance footage with local media outlets.

According to court records, Kissinger was assigned a $50,000 bail with conditions including no contact with the victim and no alcohol or drug use.

The Bartlett Police Department said in a statement it holds its officers to the highest professionalism, integrity, and accountability standards. The community’s trust is paramount, and we will take swift action to ensure that those who serve and protect the law are held to the same standards as the public they serve.

At this time, no further details can be provided as the internal investigation is ongoing. The Memphis Police Department may provide updates regarding the incident, as they are investigating the criminal aspects associated with the matter.
