Lenten music: 8:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. worship services on March 18 at Germantown Presbyterian Church, 2363 Germantown Road South, Germantown. Features American hymns and spirituals with the text of the Latin Missa Brevis (short mass). The public is invited.

David Phelps concert: 7 p.m. March 24 at Longview Heights Baptist Church, 4501 Goodman Road, Olive Branch, Miss. Featuring the multi-Dove and Grammy award winning recording artist known as the tenor for the Gaither Vocal Band, along with vocalist Charlotte Ritchie and a seven-piece musical entourage. Maundy Thursday: March 29 at Germantown Presbyterian Church, 2363 Germantown Road South, Germantown. A tenebrae (shadows) service features extinguished candles and lowered lights to symbolize the agony of the crucifixion. Service also features flute, oboe, cello and organ.

Good Friday service: 6:30 p.m. March 30 at Germantown Presbyterian Church, 2363 Germantown Road South, Germantown. Featuring music and spoken word with guitar and hammered dulcimer.

Easter service: 8:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. April 1 at Germantown Presbyterian Church, 2363 Germantown Road South, Germantown. Featuring brass quintet and chancel choir.

Bill Gaither & Gaither Vocal Band: 7 p.m. April 5 at the First Assembly in Memphis, 8650 Walnut Grove Road, Cordova. Featuring gospel classics and new favorites. Named ASCAP’s Songwriters of the Century, Bill and Gloria Gaither have written more than 700 popular gospel songs throughout their career. Details: (901) 843-8600.
