Trap stars wrap up season

The St. Agnes Academy Shooting Stars wrapped up their trap season with a strong performance at the Scholastic Clay Target Program National Championships during the week of July 8-15. The Stars defeated every other all female team they competed against at Regionals, State and Nationals. SAA sophomore Ainsley Harrington dominated the season winning every ladies JV tournament. She captured the SCTP Regional and State titles. The team advanced to Nationals where Ainsley repeated as the champion of Ladies JV Handicap. Ainsley is ranked fifth in the nation in Doubles Trap and 8th in the Nation for Ladies Junior Varsity American Trap. At the National competition SAA sophomore Hannah Roberts placed in the top 25 in the JV division, and senior Allison Raney had a top 25 finish in the varsity division. Ainsley was selected to the All National SCTP Team. This recognition is awarded for excellence in both shooting and academics. Additionally she and teammate Grace Franklin were named to the State of Tennessee All Scholastic team.
