Billy Bob Thornton’s band to perform Aug. 27 in Bartlett

Billy Bob Thornton and the Boxmasters will perform at 8 p.m. Aug. 27 at the Bartlett Performing Arts and Conference Center (BPACC).

You may know Billy Bob Thornton as an Academy Award-winning actor, but his true passion lies in music and performing for live audiences. This group is rooted in American country rockabilly music, and their music carries great Southern storytelling messages.

LAMP to host Lakeland concert with Superfive

Don’t miss live music at the Lakeland Amphitheater (The LAMP) on Aug. 27, featuring a local favorite, “The Superfive.” The free outdoor performance will be 7-10 p.m. at The LAMP in IH Park, 4523 Canada Road.

Renaissance Fair continues at Shelby Farms

renfaireroundThe second Mid-South Renaissance Faire in Shelby County will continue Aug. 27-28 at Shelby Farms Park Conservancy in Memphis. This family-friendly outdoor gathering emulates the Renaissance historical period, and the theme is the reign of Queen Elizabeth I. The first weekend of Ren Faire events this month was hosted Aug. 20-21.

Learn Elizabethan dances, be knighted by the Queen herself, eat a giant turkey leg, browse the merchant rows, enjoy the performers, sail the seas with the Mid-South Buccaneers and cheer on your favorite jouster on horseback.
