The Bartlett Police Department wil host a Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) Drug Takeback event on Sept. 26.
People can bring their medications to the drop-off spot at Kroger (7615 U.S. 70, Bartlett) between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. that day.
The event is part of a national initiative that aims to provide a safe, convenient, and responsible means of disposing of prescription drugs, while also educating the general public about drug abuse.
They will accept dropped-off prescription medicine, over-the-counter (OTC) medicing and even pet medicine. Tablets, pills, gels, and liquids are all fine, but hypodermic needles will not be accepted. All donated drugs will be incinerated.
