Municipal offices close to mark Good Friday

good-fridayLocal municipalities have announced closings in honor of Good Friday on April 3 and Easter Sunday on April 5.

  • Bartlett: City offices, the library and the animal Shelter will be closed on Friday, but the Bartlett Recreaction Center will be open for regular hours. Trash pick-up won’t be affected on Friday. The library and BRC will be closed on Easter Sunday.
  • Arlington: All town buildings will be closed on Friday.
  • Lakeland: City Hall and the Lakeland Senior Center will be closed on Friday.

Wear blue in honor of Autism Awareness Day

autism-awarenessApril 2 is World Autism Awareness day, and in support, Mid-South residents are asked to wear blue to raise awareness.

Easter egg hunts set for Saturday


  • Easter celebration: Heartsong Church in Cordova is hosting Easter Hollow, a free Easter Celebration for the whole family, 2-5 p.m. April 4. The event is open to the public and will include carnival games, agiant inflatable slide, professional face painting, concessions, and more.   • Egg hunting: Shelby Farms Park is hosting an Eco EGG-stravaganza the same day. Children can go on egg hunts from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 4. Admission is $5 per child.
