Bartlett fell to Munford Friday night on the road despite holding a two-score lead for most of the game. With a 10-0 lead through three quarters, Bartlett seemed ready to get its third win of the season. However, Munford finally responded in the final quarter, rattling off 13 unanswered points for the win. Bartlett scored early on a one-yard run in the redzone from running back Braylon Porter. Porter finished the game with 121 yards.
He averaged nearly six yards per carry in the contest. That touchdown would be the only points in the first half. After driving down the field in the third quarter, Bartlett scored again on a 20-yard field goal courtesy of Drew Hollis. The Panther’s defense held the Cougars for three quarters of the game and only allowed 169 total yards of offense in the contest. However, the fourth quarter was a different story. Munford quarterback T.J. Plymouth found receiver Andrea Bell for a 26-yard touchdown. Minutes later, Plymouth ran for another touchdown, giving the 2-7 Cougars a 13-10 win. The Panthers finished the disappointing loss with nearly 225 yards of offense and 12 first downs. A win would have given 2-7 Bartlett back-to-back victories for the first time of the season and momentum going into its last game at 1-8 Kingsbury.
