Bartlett Board of Aldermen was expected to take the first step Tuesday evening in approving the largest construction project in the city this year.
Ford Hospitality Group is requesting a variance and a rezoning for a 67-bed assisted living facility on Hwy. 70 and Summerdale. The facility, named Culpepper Place-Bartlett, is the second built in suburban Memphis by the group. Culpepper Place-Collierville is expected to open this year.
Foster Hospitality purchased four parcels of land consisting of 9.124 acres on Hwy. 70. Two of those parcels are currently zoned commercial and the others office residential. In order to comply with Bartlett zoning regulations, aldermen will have to authorize a special use permit for the commercially-zoned property and rezone the OR1 (office residential) zoning to RS12 to allow the special use permit.
According to information provided to the aldermen, the residential-styled facility would include two curb cuts to Hwy. 70 and provide access to property belonging to the developers of Cedar Hall.
Culpepper Place-Bartlett, if approved, would be the third assisted living facility in Bartlett.
